Southern California & Orange County Ship or Boat Wedding Ceremony & Marriage Vows - Civil, Non-Religious Or Religious Ceremonies

(714) 970 8839

For marrying couples requiring a Minister, Clergy, Justice of the Peace, Priest, Rabbi, Judge or other marriage officiator to preside over their ship or boat marriage ceremony

As you already might know, planning a ship or boat wedding and marriage ceremony can be the best way to simplify the whole wedding planning experience. Especially, since the entire wedding celebration is located at the same location.

A Southern California & Orange County ship or boat marriage ceremony can be more easily planned with the help of a trained wedding officiator/clergy/minister/priest/rabbi/justice of the peace or other civil wedding celebrant. One knowledgeable and experienced in both planning and presiding over ship or boat marriage ceremonies.

When Selecting Your Boat Or Ship Wedding Location – A Warning

Avoid Boat Or Ship Wedding Package Throw-Ins- A ship’s or boat’s captain does not necessarily have the caring, time and training needed to present a meaningful or competently presided marriage ceremony. Many boat or ship captains have obtained authority to solemnize marriages, but are not wedding officiators. It is wise to not automatically accept the ship’s or boat’s captain as the wedding officiator and to seek an outside option.

With a boat’s or ship’s captain...

  • They are not career professional wedding officiators and probably received their “right” to preside via an Internet certification or mail order degree mill. Unfortunately, the ship or boat captain often derives their authority without training, peer review or after meeting even the minimal of competency criteria. So, seek out an academically degreed and screened career wedding officiator trained in wedding ceremony writing & presentation.
  • The ceremonies are not usually taken seriously. The ceremony is not the most important priority for a boat or ship captain.
  • Ceremony wording is usually in the form of a simple template, including none of the important guarantees associated with a genuine wedding officiator. When the captain is included in the wedding ceremony package, a bride and groom probably will not experience the wedding ceremony that they could otherwise.
  • The captain is the suggested ceremony officiator, because they usually “short cut”, in order to provide maximum profit for the location’s owner. Don’t expect service when considering your wedding ceremony wording, music or other related details. The wedding ceremony is a necessary evil to the average boat or ship wedding venue operator, and nothing more. It is a way to close the sale, as to the wedding reception. The profit comes from the wedding reception services.

What Kind Of Wedding Officiant/Clergy/Minister Or Civil Officiator Can Provide Ship or Boat Marriage Ceremony Know How?

Some of the following:

  • Make certain that your prospective wedding officiator is degreed in his/her field. Ruling out those without long- time officiating experience, part-timers, beginners, internet or mail-order ordained, the questionable or those officiating just for fun, is an important start. A screened, career, professional officiator is a minimum standard from which to start.
  • Make certain that your prospective wedding officiator can demonstrate a knowledge of ship or boat wedding ceremony pro’s and con’s. Helping you to factor in a number of variables - ship or boat policy, kind of waters (bay, sea, and lake), ceremony limitations due to physical location and the like.
  • Has a working experience with boat or ship wedding locations in Orange County - Los Angeles County - or San Diego County
  • Consider the officiator’s physical qualities in the light of the ship or boat environment - inarticulate or soft speaking voice, untidy appearance, confident, friendly, or overall state of health.
  • Consider the officiator’s knowledge of your specific boat or ship marriage ceremony location. For example, the officiator’s actual experiences at your chosen ship or boat wedding venue… i.e. their opinion on the wedding venue’s sound system, the location’s wedding coordinator, caterer, etc.
  • Make certain that your pre-selected marriage officiator will be the one presiding over your wedding ceremony. You do not want to meet with one wedding officiator/minister/clergy/justice of the peace only to have another one show up on the wedding day. One that has not had significant ship or boat wedding ceremony experience.
  • Is based with a reputable Orange County officiators group. A screened, career officiator with professional local wedding affiliations.
  • Make certain that your primary officiant/minister/clergy/justice of the peace can supply guaranteed emergency “back-up”, in the event of their illness. This “back-up” should agree to the terms arranged with your primary officiant. The “back-up” should perform the wedding ceremony content already agreed upon.
  • Make certain that the marriage officiant will consult with the wedding professionals directly related to your wedding ceremony & transition to the wedding reception festivities. The ship or boat wedding reception caterer, event planner or banquet coordinator, photographer, videographer, D.J., Musicians, etc, are to be included in this list.Make certain that the officiant/minister/clergy/priest/rabbi/justice of the peace will add the warmth and personality to your ceremony, complimentary to the ship or boat wedding environment.
  • A ship or boat wedding ceremony should not focus on the limitations associated with the setting, but rather emphasize the locations advantages.
